H E I Ð D Í S B U Z G Ò
My name is Heiðdís Buzgò and I am an Icelandic artist, illustrator, illustrator and graphic designer.
Storytelling through images has always fascinated me and I have found a way to combine my passion for stories and adventures with a modern approach to design and image creation. In my work I seek a balance between tradition and innovation, between past and future, where the images themselves become a bridge that invites the viewer into stories that are both my own and open to interpretation by others.
My studies began at the Reykjavík School of Visual Arts, where I completed my undergraduate studies in 2017. I later moved to Akureyri and graduated from there in 2023 as a graphic designer with a diploma and professional qualifications.
I now live in Valencia, Spain, where I completed a Masters in 2D Concept Illustration at Universal Arts School. There, I have deepened my understanding of how to develop characters, environments, and entire worlds that come to life before people's eyes, and that are suitable for any storytelling in a wide range of artistic disciplines.
In recent years I have been involved in a variety of projects. I have illustrated books and designed playbills, album covers, posters and graphic materials for various events, including the Akureyri Town Festival.
I always find it exciting to take on new challenges where I can utilize both creativity and technical skills to support the story or message to be conveyed.
Often a picture says more than a thousand words. It is a way to interpret a story, create a mood and open doors to new worlds. I have always been drawn to folk tales and fairy tales, not just because they are beautiful stories, but because they possess a deep symbolic power that continues to speak to us today. With my pictures I try to capture that power and bring it into the present, thus bridging the gap between past generations and ours.
